Bangor First Fridays Art Walks
Date: October 2, 2026
Time: 4-6 pm
First Fridays Art Walks are monthly community events featuring local artists and venues located in downtown Bangor, Maine.
These Art Walks are produced by volunteers in cooperation with Downtown Bangor Partnership, The Bangor Art Society, and dozens of local businesses.
This celebration of art and artists, held in the historic downtown shopping, dining, arts and commerce district, is held on the first Friday of every month starting May 1st and continuing until Oct 2nd.
Venues and artists change every month, so you’ll experience new and exciting artwork every month!

Robert Collins: Exploring Abstraction Workshop
Date: Saturday, Nov 14, 2026
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Location: Unitarian Universalist Church, 120 Park St, Bangor ME
On November 14th, from 10 AM – 2 PM, the Bangor Art Society is sponsoring a painting workshop by artist Robert Collins.
Robert owns the Robert Collins Gallery in Rockport, Massachusetts. He is a past professor of Montserrat College of Art.
The workshop will focus on Exploring Abstraction – learn to give structure and stability to your paintings using color, shape and design.
This workshop is open to artists of every experience level

The Bangor Art Society regrets to report the passing of artist Richard Newman, who died unexpectedly on November 13, 2025.
Art was at the center of Richard’s heart and encapsulated a lifetime. He had a quiet, reflective nature that allowed him to skillfully mentor students and transform the ordinary world of found objects into extraordinary art.
